Matthew is a PhD Candidate, teacher, and researcher at York University. With a background in education, corporate training, and communications, he brings a wealth of skills to the board to ensure LEADR remains accountable to the Durham Region will ensuring compassion for each and every learner. After receiving a number of grants and scholarships to support his research, Matthew joined the LEADR Board of Directors—first as a member-at-large, then as the Vice-President, and then finally in his current role as the President—as a way to give back to the community that he now calls home while simultaneously maintaining ties with the literature, literacy, and philanthropy that makes up his current research.
